It may not be very legal or ethical, but it's a damn smart design solution.

Up close it just looks like a cool aesthetic touch but from a distance (and possibly even more clearly when moving 200 mph) it appears to resemble the packaging of a certain cigarette manufacturer.

The value of design to startups

"Design and marketing aren't just as important as engineering: They are way more important."

  • Addictive User Experience (Design) and Scalable Distribution Methods (Marketing) are the most critical components of success in consumer Internet startups, not Pure Engineering Talent.
  • If investors don't have operational backgrounds in design, development, or marketing from proven consumer Internet companies, you probably don't want their money.

Quality of design is an indicator of credibility

Alright, some scientific proof:

One interesting finding of these studies is that users really do judge a book by its cover ... or rather, a website by its design. Elements such as layout, consistency, typography, color and style all affect how users perceive your website and what kind of image you project.
